Day 1
The Erasmus adventure in Portugal, in the town of Peso da Regua, began with the opening ceremony at the host school, where the principal addressed the participants, and where the students took part in the first workshops. In the second part of the day, they visited the Douro Museum, a regional museum that houses an exhibit that presents the history of this Portuguese wine region.
Day 2
The second day was spent in Vila Real, the capital of the region. They visited the largest Adega Cooperativa winery, and after that they toured the city itself. Later, despite the rain, they visited the S. Leonardo de Garafula viewpoint where the students, divided into international groups, had a photography competition.
Day 3
The participants visited the town of Pinhao, to which they went by train. The train ride was exciting since the train runs along the Duoro River itself. In Pinhao, they boarded a boat and, driving along the Duoro River, they viewed the landscapes with vineyards. After the boat ride, the hosts prepared a picnic on the river bank. Upon returning to Peso de Regua, they visited a winery and a cultural center where they watched the making of wooden musical instruments and participated in workshops with local artists.
Day 4
The students worked in teams under the guidance of Professor Daniel Costa. First, they had an interactive lecture on entrepreneurship, and then they designed products on the topic of wine, vineyards and tourism. While the students were working, the teachers had a meeting where they discussed the completed mobilities, the dissemination of the project, and future mobilities and the tasks they need to complete.
At the end of the working day, participants were given certificates, as well as prizes for the best groups.
Day 5
The project partners spent today in Porto. On their arrival, they passed by the restless Atlantic Ocean and continued on foot across the Douro River towards the Ferreira Winery. In the winery, they toured the cellars and the museum dedicated to port wine. The rest of the day was free for sightseeing in this wonderful city.
